OS: windows 2000 server
CPU/Ram: 1.6 ghz 512 MB

having problems on file server. workstations have slow connection on shared files on server. what should i do to have faster access to files on sever?

Here are 2 possible solutions but you need to give us more information, like how many users, the layout and hardware used in your network. The cause could be anything.

change the binding order of protocols

make sure the dns server that holds the zone that the file server belongs to is the first dns server assigned to clients.
