I have a U.S. Robotics v92 modem that is compatible from win 95 to win xp. I installed my modem and it shows up in device manager with no problems. I even query the modem and it responds. Now when I try to dial to the internet, it wont let me. I tried to go to:
1. settings
2. network and dial-up connections
3. make a new connection
4. click next
5. dial-up to internet
6. i want to transfer my existing internet account to this computerthen, a message pops up saying "The internet connection wizard has not finished setting up your internet connection.
Are you sure you want to close this wizard?"
If I select no, then it just repeats the message. I also tried to go to internet options in IE and in the connection tab, I tried adding a connection but this message pops up:
"cannot load the Remote Access Connection Manager service.
Error 711: The Remote Access Service Manager could not start. Additional information is provided in the event log."
I even went to the help file but it gave me an error opening it and now, I'm really frustrated. I even reinstalled win 2000 but it still gives me the same problems. Please help me cause I'm ready to trash my computer.

Run the wizard again, but do a manual configuration..... option three in the list. You can always reconfigure your email, etc later.
