I use to have ME on the computer but i installed 2k over the whole partition..well i only hvae one partition. So now I dont have ME anymore but the problem is when I boot up it still gives me a 1rst choice:Microsoft Windows 2000, secondchoice: Microsoft windows.
the first choice will boot fine but the second choice when i click on it..it just shows a blank screen..how can i boot up where it will not ask for a boot choice.i want to be able to boot up to Win2k Directly. Thanx very much

Just set default OS to boot to W2K; MyComputer\properties\start-up/shut-down is where you do it - and away you go?

Suggest you leave 'time to boot' at least 10secs - it's not really a good idea to set it to zero. And 10secs is not long to wait???

You can edit out reference to ME (Windows) in the boot.ini if you wish; or leave it there?

Go to folder options/view and check show hidden files and uncheck hide protected system files. Find the file boot.ini. Read it carefully. Your default OS must be win2k if it will boot without you making a choice. Just delete the reference to windows. If you don't care what the boot.ini says go to my computer/properties/advanced/startup and recovery/ and uncheck display list of operating sys.
