I've got a problem.
I'm fooling around with windows 2000srv, and I'm trying to install Active Directory on it. So far, so good.
The AD is installed; but when I reboot my server, the troubles begin : cannot initalize this or that or this etc... Where lies the problem? Could it be the Radeon-based graphics-card driver?
Please help be, because it is very annoying that I can't manage users in the domain (for example : IF I manage to log in (and most of the time it just won't), the computer tells me (whenever I click on "Active Directory Computers & Useres") that this is only for when the service is installed... (I don't get it, it is installed, the domain is active but I can't manage it)

My first guess would be your DNS isn't setup correctly. Before running dcpromo.exe you should change the DNS suffix on your server to whatever your domain name is (ie: mydomain.local) and then you run dcpromo. During setup have the wizard set up your DNS zones for you (forward and reverse). If all is done correctly, then you should have a working domain. (note: exact error messages would help a lot in diagnosing the source of your problem)

Ok, thnx :)
but the problem is now :
I've got a router that handles the DNS, right? So, I can't use the DNS-server on my server. (btw : it's a D-Link 704P router).
What do I have to do then?
I figured already out that the domain works (I can login to the domain from e.g. my laptop, but I can't from the server nor can I change anything from the server and/or laptop)Thnx again !

...failed to initialize properly (0xc0000142)...
this is the error-message I get all the time (IF I can log in). @Ms they say the problem lies @ the terminal services (user is logged of automatically, but I've never used nor configured the terminal services (they're even not installed).
So I'm where I was before; I got a not-working server and no domain.. WTH did I do wrong?
Any comment and help would be great !
Thanks !
