I guys, I am having big problem with my laptop. I had two problem at the same time. First I got a virus (MSBLAST.D/Welchia and another trojan) and then I tried to use RegClean program but I used it wrongly because I deleted where it says "Software registered to the Registry. You should delete every program's entries you know you have had, but you don't have anymore". Now, I have cleaned the virus, I hope. I used the website www.antivirus.com and another tool provided by symantec, but the problems still remain. I cannot see my email on yahoo as before. Instead of the normal fonts and graphics I have the normal fonts like "Times new romans" and this kind of stuff, I cannot have access to some website because clicking on the link the browser does not load the page or I cannot see any icon inside the folder "WINNT" and Installing Application under the control panel. Now, what do I have to do? Does anyone have a suggestion? Thanks a lot. Michele

First you need to check whether you are virus free. Go to F-Prot.com They have an anti-virus program that fits on a floppy. And, it is very good. Boot on a Win98 boot disk to an A: prompt and then put in the F-Prot disk and type f-prot.exe Next you need to download the worm blaster patch from http://www.microsoft.com/technet/treeview/?url=/technet/security/bulletin/MS03-026.asp Finally, because you tinkered with the registry, you probably deleted some relevant files. To repair, boot off the Win2K CD, then use the Repair feature. Fast Repair will do. If it works you will be presented with a new desktop, but that's easy to get back to normal. If you don’t know how to boot off the CD please repost or send me an email. Good luck.
