Hi,
I am getting the same error as well with Norton Internet security 2003. I uninstalled from the add/remove program and tried to install it again, here I am geting the message,

"Before Installing Norton Internet Sceurity, you must restart you computer to complete an earlier uninstalltion. Restart your computer, then run the installer again"

I restarted number of times, but it doesn't help, I am getting the same massage and installtion fails.

Please let me know the resolution.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Bilas

You need to go to the Symantec support website and do a search for how to uninstall nis. They have a removal tool that will solve your problem.
