Problem with iTunes + CD/DVD Drive

My itunes won't recognise my cd/dvd drive. I have windows 2000, and im a power user, yet when logged in as adminstrator is works fine? any idea how other users can? Thanks

I have the very same problem with XP...and I added a DVD burner and Itunes does not recognise this either.
