i dont know what can i do with my floppy drive.i insert in a drive the diskette and it tells that the diskette its not formated and it ask me if i wanna do it.i tryed to do it but after it saying that windows can not formatted this diskette.i changed the diskette ,the cables,the floppy drive ,but still same problem.who can give me an advise it will come direct to me.i know its a tough problem ,but who knows...

Is the lock out tab on the floppy closed??
1 hole open and 1 blocked out?

sounds like you need to replace the drive. Mechanical devices wear out.

i have changed already the drivebut itsthe same.it keepsasking if iwanted to formated the diskette,which finally can not do it.
big bob ,i dont speak english that good.what do you mean by lock out tab.and 1 hole bloked.where is thaton the cable or theat the drive where u put the cable?
i saw that existing two tipes of drive and mother board for floppy;i have another old computer with a piece of (i dont know how to explain),you know where you insert the floppy cable on motherboard,its one missing,and this computer i have ther is all the little things on it;i hope you understand.
