Hi, I am having a problem with my video card and I think it is caused by one of the drivers that are posted for the Athlon Processor and the new AMD 761 chipset(@AMD support), the asus V3800Ultra\Tvr(TnT2ultra)video card i have or the mobo I have(asus A7M266 DDR) . The problem that I am having, is that every time I go to a game(Microsoft Midtown Madness) or something that has 3-dimensional rendering(DirectX test or Opengl Screensaver) in it or even a calculation demanding application(an Mp3), it will make my computer will lockup and restart automatically, and it only started happening after I installed that driver and it never did that before. The driver that I used was the "Windows 2000 AGP driver v5.22, and I believe that driver is for the "AMD 761- CPU to AGP controller". My processor is not overclocked, neither is my video card. My processor is running at 92 degrees F so that isn't the problem. if i leave the driver out will it affect my system performance or should I go to a lower version driver. Can someone suggest something to me, or send me a driver that works. I also already e-mailed ASUS and AMD

I have the same problem. If I play anything with 3d rendering, mmx or hardware, it hangs my system. I can't even install some games. I have all of the updated drivers except maybe that bios revision that someone mentioned earlier.
My system:
t-bird 1.33
A7m266 w/onboard sound
512mb micron or whatever the brand is, Its on the amd website.
PNY geforce 3
Samsung 40gb harddrive.

If anyone has any suggestions, finds a bios revision, or any answers, drop us a line. I'll report if I find anything.

I had a similar problem.

Solution:

Make sure you have not installed the Via AGP drivers. You will need the AMD AGP miniport drivers 4.80, available at AMD.com.

In the Bios, change the AGP Compensation from auto to bypass and disable spread spectrum.

This sped up my system considerably and allowed 3d games to run perfectly.

Good Luck
