Problem when running dcpromo

I have just installed a W2K server machine and now want to make it a DC for its own domain (it is a test machine) but when i enter dcpromo , I start the Active Directory Installation wizard, run through the questions, including setting up DNS and just as it starts to do it I instantly get this message :

"Installation failed The operation failed with the following error: The network location cannot be found. For information about network troubleshooting see Windows help"

mr k, to do with the dns name you are using, must be 2 words separated by period i.e mrk.com

previous response is a dud, you need a network card in machine and for it to be enabled, see device manager..all the best
