printing very slow!

February 18, 2009 at 13:17:26
Specs: Windows 2000
I have a problem with printing. When we print from a TCP/IP port with LPR and LPR byte counting on the prints go to a lokal print queue and they stay there for an hour. When I print the same PDF through DOS lpr -s ipaddress to printserver it goes fast. What is the problem? Does anyone have a clue?

clue would be to examine your tcp/ip port configuration and compare it to the printserver expected specs.

is it set to start print upon reciept of first page or last page?

Those specs would be contained in the print servers documentation. There is a section where they walk you thru a workstation tcp/ip print setup configuration.

What port number is selected in your workstation port printing setup?
