Subject: Printer Probs with Win 2000OS: win2000CPU/Ram: P2/192mb |
Comment: Just installed Win2000 over Win98 and for the most part everything is working great except for my local printer. Device Manager shows the Printer Port (LPT1) and Comm Port (Com4) having the yellow exclamations marks. I've tried un/reinstalling the drivers/ deleting the device and got the lastest devices off the net still no luck, but the computer prints fine to a networked printer. How do I trouble shoot it further? Thnx

Reply: (edit)Remove both out of device mgr. .. then disable com 4 in the bios .. that should work .. for some reason com4 and LPT1 are not happy .. you could also just disable com 4 in device mgr. too .. if you don't need it .. these two ideas are not a fix ... but a work around. Good luck.
