Printer ports

i've set up a standard tcp/ip printer port but when i tried to delete this port it it wouldn't let me. What do i need to to do to recreate the same printer port with the same ip address?

What exactly happened when you tried to delete the port? Did you get a message or an error?

i message saying "cannot delete port, Operation cannot be completed" along those lines. Before that it asked me if i was sure i wanted to delete this port.

try disconnecting the printer before deleting the port

Has a printer already been installed to the port? If so, remove it or move it to another port and try again

hey , move it to another existing port like com or lpt, and save it and then open the box and highlight your port and delete it . it should works .
