Your mobo is looking for a 80 pin connector cable which is used to connect UDMA 66 and 100 hard drives. You may have your BIOS set to read this type of drive, yet have connected a standard cable.

Also if you have a 80 pin connector, make sure blue is to mobo, black to primary drive and gray to slave.

Check your mobo manual for details or the mobo manufactures site.
