Comment:

I am trying to figure out how to allow Power Users the capability to change their IP configuration settings without giving them any other Administrative Privileges. Any ideas?

at the run command type gpedit.msc and hit enter. This will open the group policy editor where you can change options for a group or groups.

Thanks for the reply. In the Network and dial up connections folder under Network\Administrative Templates there is a policy setting for "prohibit access to properties of components of a LAN connection". This is for the restriction of privileges to an Administrative account. Is there a way to elevate the privelges of a Power User to change IP address configuration. Unless I am missing something or misunderstanding this. Any input is appreciated.

i looked into this just outta curiosity, and noticed the following statement on the 'Explain' tab in the settings under:
User Configuration->Administrative Templates->Network->Network and Dial-Up Connections->Prohibit access to properties of a LAN connection

"Note: Non-administrators are already denied access to properties regardless of policies." i dunno if this helps or not. jsut thought that i'd share this with you.
