I have a system that is a VPN server behind a firewall/router. I opened the port 1723 and then I forwarded to the vpn server on the internal network. When I connect to this vpn server via the internet / external ip the vpn server does respond but it gets stuck in "Verifing username and password" what am I doing wrong here?

Anything appreciated
TIA

Hi,
i also had this problem, it was not only port 1723 wich has to be open but also the GRE ( General Route Encapsulation) protocol 47.
The Generic Route Encapsulation (GRE) protocol is used in conjunction with Point-to-Point Tunneling Protocol (PPTP) to create virtual private networks (VPNs) between clients or between clients and servers.

goodluck!
