Pop3 (incoming) sever not responding in Outlook Express 6

January 26, 2013 at 15:32:22
Specs: Windows 2000 Pro, 600mhz/ 640 RAM

I am trying to set up a Comcast mail account. Comcast Live Chat is no help. I have the servers and ports right. I have checked off for both incoming and outgoing "server requires authentication".
I've done everything right, still I can not connect. I get:

The server you are connected to is using a security certificate
that could not be verified. A certificate processed correctly,
but terminated in a root certificate which is not trusted by the
trust provider. Do you want to continue using this server?

Then, I get recurrent times-out, as the server tries to re-connect
every 60 seconds. What am I doing wrong?

"The server you are connected to is using a security certificate
that could not be verified."
- I had a problem like that once when my date/time was not set correctly.

"Then, I get recurrent times-out, as the server tries to re-connect
every 60 seconds"
- That is probably due to the fact that it has refused a secure connection. Once the security certificate can be verified it will fetch the mail
