I need help! Porn pages keep popping up on my computer. Explorer launches on its own with a porn advertisement and link page after no one has been for awhile (couple hours). Sometimes (though not always) closing the page will cause a couple more pages to launch. It also happens when explorer has been open for a long time but has not been used. Those ads usually take over the whole screen, whereas the ones that launch explorer are pop up size. Pop up stopper software does not work. We have an updated version of Norton Antivirus. Norton does not detect anything. Also downloaded the most recent version of explorer. I ran the programs at pcflank.com to no avail. I'm really an amateur at fixing this kind of stuff and have no idea what else to do. Any suggestions?

Sounds like adware to me.

Try downloading and running Ad-Aware.

You have somehow downloaded a 'malware' program which has hijacked your browser. Until this program is found and removed, you will continue to get these problems. Check www.cexx.org for information that will lead you to this program. Good Luck.
