Hi Ronald, policie in Win2k basically refer to system policies (settings affecting local computer), while profiles refer to settings that affect users, and not the actual computer. The policy object is a snapin in Win2k that can be used with the Microsoft Management Console to configure system and group policies. Profiles can be used in conjunction with policies in Win2k. A user's profile settings are applied first and then the policy.
