If there's anybody there who could help me, please email me. I installed it twice, and right now I have two win2k in my hands. Please help.
Thank you.

When your actually in one of the windows does it show you that you have Two Main Windows directories C:\Winnt and maybe C:\Winnt2 or do you have two partitions for instance C: and D: ? First thing to do is identify the situation. then go from there . Just because you have a menu to choose from two operating systems doesn't mean there are.
Get back to me. Bobronco

Followiong on from "bobronco"... if you do actually have two separate W2K folders... then boot into the one you 'like' and delete the other from within that version; then access the boot.ini and remove (edit out) the references to the unwanted version...
Be sure you are removing/editing out from the boot.ini the references for the correct version (i.e. the one you don't want...
Also it won't hurt to MAKE an ERD for version you wish to retain - before starting on 'any' deletions (W2K folder or boot.ini info...)
If, by chance, you have these two versions in separate partitions (C & D) then retain the C: version (if possible) and delete the D version...

thank you for the response, anyway, there ARE two directories of win2k in my drive, and both of them are in partition C. Is that file deletion safe, or will there still be problems even after I delete a string in boot.ini?
pardon my incompetent brain, but what is an ERD???

The ERD is an emergency repair disk, which saves your win2k system files so you can use in case of a boot failure. You can create this disk from your win2k bakup utility. It is safe to delete your second win2k directory because it is not in use.

Your only way you will get rid of the problem is to format your drive and start over. Windows has to many files that are needed to operate with in different places at this point you can't seperate them by deleting only part of dir of folders. You will only add to your problem. I use 2000 and have worked with it a lot. It would take a long page to explain what I mean.

There is no 'need' to reformat your hard drive to lose the second W2K... Just delete the unwanted version as outlined above...
Since both versions are in the same partition, just be careful you delete the correct (unwanted) version...

Anon is right, but remember to edit boot.ini to delete the line that calls for the other W2K instance, otherwise you'll receive ever the menu asking you for the instance you want to start, one of them invalid 'cause you've already deleted it...
