Comment:
I bought a Kodak camera and in order to play the MOV movies it makes I have to have real player. Well as bad as i hated to I downloaded it and installed, now when it trys to play the movie it says it needs a file to do so, it downloads the file and still when i try to play it redownloads the same file. Never seems to install it or something. I rebooted and everything. Is there anyother player that will play these MOV files that my camera makes besides Real player.

Marshall

Hi Marshall,

If the Kodak camara makes .mov files I think I can help.

Quicktime is an application with what you can play .mov.

Since I dislike Quicktime I searched for another application to play .mov and many others (also to get rid of those annoying codecs) I found Mplayer.

Ok, it might not be as good as Quicktime with .mov, but I prefer it more.

To find Mplayer, just google at it and you will find it. There is a windows version.

Since it is originally a Linux application, the installation and the usage is diffirent.

You actually just have to extract and copy it (or create a shortcut) to the desktop and drag the .mov or any file you wish to play (also audio can be played by it) and drop it on the Mplayer icon.

Gender doesn't matter in the Computing world. Commom sence does.
Don't forget that.
