Try using the "arp" command.

Not entirely sure what the string is, but pretty sure thats the command needed.

Arp is not ping. You don't ping a mac address. You can only ping a ip address.

How do I ping an IP and get the mac address from the computer? My laptop was stolen on campus and I can ping it on the network. I was to get the MAC and find it wirelessly
