ping and ipconfig command not recognized

Background info:
-Network is NT Server based -From the Server I can Ping two client computers and receive correct responses -However, when i go to these two clients and try to ping neither of the clints recognizes the command i.e. internal error etc... -one client OS is windows 2000 the other is NT 4.0 -how do i resolve this? -everything else with the computers seems to be working

Sounds like ping.exe is not in the path on these clients. From a command prompt, type: path to see what directories are in the path, then do a search for ping.exe and make sure it's in one of those directories.
