Well it seems that there are a number of people out there with the same modem and win-2k problem. PCTel should post the driver for the hsp56 micromodem. If anyone has found it please send it or post where to acquire.

Reply: I too have the same problem. I have been in contact with PCtel customer support and they are telling me that new drivers are under testing/development. They did not indicate when it would be finalized. They indicated that there are some drivers that works but only if the PCtel modem is included in the motherboard and not for the PCI version. If you guys have found out anything diffrent I would sure apreciate if you could send over some info......

Well my HSP56 Micromodem is on the board and the drivers I downloaded from the manufactures have not worked www.pc100.com
So I am ready to throw in the towel on windows 2000... It accepts the driver and everything then the modem simply does not respond.
If anyone outthere has their modem working in 2000, I sure would like to know how they have it set up?!?!?

W2K driver for HSP 56K PCI Internal Modem: Have tried every driver suggested - none of them work. The modem does not respond. I now throw it away and replace it with another brand name. - The "support" from PCtel certainly does not encourage to buy their products. Learn from mistakes.
