password lost

ok i have accounts set up on my computer and someone who made an account forgot their password and i just made them a new account but i can not delite the origional one with out the password is there any way to recover this password?

If you can log onto the PC as the administrator, or with an administrative level account, you could have easily changed the password for them by right clicking on the user (in Administrative Tools >> Computer Management >> Local Users and Groups >> Users) and selecting "set password".
Also, if logged on as an admin, you can delete the old account and a password is not needed. I'm not sure how you tried to change the password and delete the account but you were definately doing it the wrong way or you wouldn't have had problems in either case.

anyone happen to know the general bypass password microsoft has hidden for lost admin passwords? i know 95/98/me was exec, but they changed it for 2k. hope someone knows it, gene

I suppose using tool such as Active@ password chaner. It is a small yet powerful tool that can quickly reset your lost or forgotten pass. That should help, try it out.
