Partition Magic 8.0 by Powerquest. It costs a few bucks and is worth several times the price. Works like a charm and you can always undo what you just did. NTFS or FAT32 - back and forth, whatever you want. I've got two drives and a total of six partitions. But, I might change my mind and go back to two partitions tomorrow. No problem. I can do it in a few minutes.

Using Disk Admin tools...

You need to configure (partition) it first...

Also if partition is over 32Gig then W2K cannot create/format over 32Gig. Thus you use a '98 boot-disk (Fdisk/format utils) to do it; or an add-in util (PM/SC etc.).

You didn't say whether you were trying to format it using the FAT32 file system or NTFS.

I think 32GB is the limit for the FAT32 file system. However NTFS limit is about 2 TB.

Let me know how you get on.

James

W2K cannot create a partition over 32Gig but, as far as I know, it has no problems in formating one. '98 Fdisk would be one way to create one over 32Gig; similarly PM/SC etc.
