When booting into windows my systems stops with "System has no paging file or paging file is too small" I saw instructions in an earlier posts on the fix for this but the system will not open to the desktop in order to change the size of the page file. After the error message comes up, the windows screen stays blank and it will not go any further. Any assistance would be appreciated.

Have you tried booting into Safe Mode?. It should let you configure the page file size and such. To boot into Safe Mode, press F8 while the computer boots and it will pop up a menu it several options.

I did try to boot into safe mode but got the same message. I did notice that when the system was running scandisk from the cold boots I was doing, the system seemed to be seeing the hard drive as "D" and not "C" Don't know why and don't know if that has anything to do with my problem. Bottom line is I couldn't get into window in any fashion to try any of the possible fixes I found.

Alright, try this trick. I don´t know your scenario but it may work: when you get this error, press ctrl-alt-del. If you get to the Windows Security window, great!, click on "Task List..." and then on File --> Run --> type "explorer.exe" or "c:\winnt\explorer.exe". If everything goes well, you will have the taskbar running and then you´ll be able to get into the Control Panel to change your page file settings.

Hope this helps!

I got it corrected. Because I had ran norton ghost on the drive, it was reading as drive "D" I found an article that instructed to boot to dos then use the "fdisk/mbr" command to reset the Master Boot Record...Althought I had to reinstall some programs, that solution worked...Maybe that will help someone else in the future...Appreciate your assistance!
