I have been seeing a "Page Fault In Nonpaged Area" error (Stop 0x50) whenever I add memory to a system. It has a 128Mb stick in it already and when I add an additional 128Mb, the error appears. It does not show up when either stick is in the computer by itself, only when both are present. I tried a third stick of known good memory both the other sticks, one at a time with the same results. It seems the at the error only occurs when two memory sticks are present, reguardless of postion or size. Has anyone seen anything like this?

The computer is a Compaq (I know...wasn't my choice) Deskpro EN small form factor with a PIII 866 MHz and 128Mb RAM standard...

If the ram is not compaq ram, there is a good possibility that the ram you are installing is not compatible with the existing ram. I've seem many cases of weird errors involving 3rd party ram installed in compaq units.

I just had the exact same problem. My computer is not a Compaq. Exact configuration - 128 MB DIMM, trying to add a second of same. I get the same error message. Can't be the Compaq RAM. Any other ideas?

Same problem with two Dell GX110-733's. I tried to add 128MB to the original 64MB. Crucial Technology's tech said it was a Windows 2000 problem and that I had to reinstall the OS. I did and it works great. But that's not a fix!

I have a NEC Ready 9905 with 64MB. I am trying to upgrade RAM and have tried Kingston and PNY memory. None work. It only seems to like the original 64MB DIMM. It is absolutely ridiculous that an OS can't accept a simple RAM upgrade! Microsoft never ceases to amaze me with the problems they sell their customers in the guise of an "OS".
