Outlook configuration question!
I have a company email PC. Its running Outlook 2000 on 2k.
This PC is connecting over a LAN using ADSL connection, not important but I know we all like detail!
POP connection is to one ISP only.
SMTP is going out over the ADSL provider, it works fine.
Both companies have mail forwarding going to the same account in-bound from their own Domains! There are 2 companies sharing this PC. I need to be able to send mail from both of them so that it shows very separate company details when the email is received!
Now I had this working fine using Express 6.
I’ve exported mail, folders and both account settings with no problems and imported into Outlook 2k, but when using the From field to select the Sender, Outlook puts the default company address in the address. When viewed in the In-Box it shows what was selected in the From Field, great.
When you reply to the email it selects what was sent using the From field great. In the preview pane it shows the other companies address, very bad.
When you open the email it shows you the other company address at the beginning and the On behalf of “correct address” at the end! Better but not good enough!I had this set-up working fine with Express 6 but is there a way around this in Outlook 2000 ?
The objective is 2 people from 2 different companies use 1 PC for email, no restarts of Outlook, no logoffs etc… just done from within Outlook.
Only 1 in-box required as mail can be manually moved or an in-box rule can be applied! Why is outlook such a cow, moooooooh.
Thanx for any help
