Hello :) I am stuck :)
Clicking on web site urls in emails that I get don't start up explorer or if explorer is already open, they don't do anything. I click them but nothing happens. But this is new as of only a month ago- they always used to work.
Any ideas on what is wrong? I can't find anything in the Security settings.
thank you!!

If your cut and paste is not functioning you may have the blaster worm. Check your system processes that are running for blast.exe or something similar, and scan your computer with antivirus software, suggest AVG with latest definitions, then follow instructions issued by microsoft to rid yourself of the worm. email microsoft and they will courier out the patch.

Actually doesn't Outlook do that to protect you? Can't you just copy/paste the url to your browser. I think it is a security feature.

Thank you for replying! I went away for a few days.
Anyway, I don't have the blaster worm and my cut and paste works.
Yes, I can "Copy Shortcut" from the url in the email and stick in in my browser but that is such a pain. It never used to be like that. This refusal to automatically go to IE only started about 2 months ago now.
All I can think of at this point is that one of Microsofts patches that I downloaded lately has disabled this ability? But it doesn't seem right.
Can anyone else have a web page started up when they click on a URL in an email?
I would appreciate any other ideas if anyone has one.
Thanx,
Cat
