Hi! I have Office 2000 SR-1 with Outlook 2000 (and that damned security patch) and one time I accidantly checked the box "What would you like to do with this file?" (or something like that, I am using german version) when receiving attachments. I know there must be a way to receive that query again so I can save files directly from the preview-window. I searched all the options-tabs, help file and microsoft's knowledge base. Anyone had that before?

Maybe I expressed myself a little bad: If you receive a mail with attachment you have a button (paper clip) in the preview window. Pressing it shows the file, pressing again shows a dialog box: "What would you like to do with this file?" You can choose "Open" or "Save to disk", beneath is a stupid checkbox "Always open these files" or so. I accidently checked it, now I can never save these files to disk, Outlook always opens directly. If I receive a zip-file now that I want to save to disk, I can only open it through the paper clip button.

If you applied the security patch or SR-2, there is no way back. You have to install Outlook anew. Switch to a better (and safer) email client. Outlook (Express) is full of security holes. If you are german try www.akmail.com
