Hello all! I was wondering if you guys could help me with my big big problem. My brother got a laptop for me from Japan. And it is just a second-hand piece. My problem is that it is in Japanese. The whole thing, Window 2000 is in Japanese. SO i was wondering if i can upgrade this into Win XP English form...PLease help me...i really need to use the laptop for my school. The laptop is an IBM R32 series.

Well, you can change this without installing XP or whatnot (i had to "russify" the english win2K myself)
Simply open "My Computer", open "Control Panel", double-click "regional Options" (or whatever the japanese equvivalent is :-) - looks like a globe), in "General" tab, set your locale to an English-speaking country, like "United Kingdom", then go down to "Language settings" and set "Western Europe and United STates" as your default. Then open "Input Locales" tab (last in the window), add English if neccessary and remove Japanese. Should work like a charm
good luck
