Comment:

Is there a utility or program that will allow me to scan a hard drive or RAID array and make repairs to it while it is online. I have a server that is generating errors.

Event ID: 7

The device, \Device\Harddisk1\DR1, has a bad block.

Thank you,

Leto the Just

I was told that I should set up a spare drive that is automatically rebuilt when the array goes bad. Does anyone know how to do this?

What manufacturer makes the RAID Adapter? We use DELL and they provide a utility that will do all of that for you. Not sure if yours does but it may be worth looking into.
