The onboard sound chip is the ALi M5451 PCI Audio Accelerator just to clear things up, and the sound card is a SoundBlaster Audigy X-Gamer.

I answered my own question... I tried it for myself. Apparently it might fry my chips? Dunno how try that is. I can't see how and I can't see why there would've been a problem but what the hell, everything seems to be fine.
