Older SCSI HD hooked upto PPort

I have a older External Harddrive (SCSI)hooked up through the Printer Port, but im unable to get windows to pick up it at all. Im trying to transfer some Info to another computer sence i dont have a cd burner. I need to know if there's a certain way to hooking these harddrives up (external), im alittle confused and stuck here. Any comment's would help alot.

you need a software program [usually came with the parallel port connector] that can read the p-port as a drive. Most likely too old to work in W2k. But then its been a long time since I worked with p-ort scsi.
