Reply: (edit)Doesn't necessarily matter if the old drivers reside in your system. Does matter which driver your display adapter is using. If you still have the drivers for the old MB on the drive you must have installed windows on top of itself. What you need to do is format your drive and then install windows, so you can clean out all that old stuff. A clean install of the OS is a necessity with a MB changeout. Do yourself a favor and do it. If your drive is one partition, the easiest way to get rid or the old OS is to run Fdisk from a boot floppy and delete the partition, create new partition using all available space, if that what you want, and reboot to your CD installation disk of 2000. If you don't run 16 bit programs, you may want to format using NTFS. This may be a necessity if you have a large HD. If you need to use FAT32 and can't, or want to create multiple partitions or drives, repost.

Reply: (edit)does it have a option on the win2k cd where it removes the existing partition and makes a new one in win2k setup after I format? If so then why would I need to use fdisk if it removed partition and makes a new one for me?

Reply: (edit)Download a small program called Nasty File Remover. About 180kb. It facilitates EASY removal of unwanted video card driver files. It scavenges bits and pieces from the registry, etc. etc. You will like this little gem....
