I upgraded to Windows 2000 from Windows 98. I used the clean install option. Now when I start up im asked if I want to use 2000 or 98. Is the 98 still using up space and ram ect and if so how can I remove it? I dont see myself ever using it and 98 wont work with NTFS anyway and wont even start up. any help would be greatly appreciated, Thanks
Bryan

Start over again and do a complete install. Deleting the existing partition and recreating it when prompted in the 2000 install.
Soylent Green is PEOPLE!!!

To see if 98 is taking up space, assuming it's the usual install:
dir /s c:\windows
If 98 is not running, it could hardly be using RAM.
I always partition, format and sys with 98. That way, when the day comes [not if, but when] that I need to boot in DOS to unscrew NT, it's available.
This setup only takes a few MB of HD space. Not a big deal on 10GB+ HDs.
If at first you don't succeed, you're about average.M2

Jennifer now you are starting to sound like me!!!!You can avoid many of these Windows problems with Linux. Linspire eases the transition for new users

Odds are folks, just a edit of the boot.ini was in order. To see if "98" was taking up room, all that needed to be done was see if there was a "windows" folder. Delete it and you would be done.
Golly gee wilerkers everyone! Learn to Internet Search

I dont think 98 will still be there it is simply still in the boot.ini open the file on the root of c you will chave to check verw hidden files and vew hidden os files and then open it and remove the line with win98 on it
