I'm trying to uninstall an Arabic version of office2000, so that I can install the standard version. However, when I try to uninstall it I get an error message saying that the installation package is not available. I've tried deleting the office folder and all office files as well as removing it from the registry with x-setup, which seems to do the trick, but when I install the standard version of office it still ends up with all the Arabic settings and claims to be the Arabic version - which starts up in Arabic even when English is set as the language. The regional settings for the computer are set to a European country, and I've even disabled Arabic in the OS, but it still starts up in Arabic.
I had initially tried to install my standard version of office thinking it would overwrite the previous (Arabic) installation but it just installed alongside it, giving two Office installations, both Arabic.
This is cracking me up, some please help.

Ya lost me here.. "I had initially tried to install my standard version of office thinking it would overwrite the previous"
What is a "standard" version ?
Boot into safe mode...(f8) while booting. and remove Allah's version while in safe mode.Clear Office from the registry while in there.
Re-boot
Reinstall Bill Gate's version.

Hey, thanks Cleo, that worked just fine. Just to clarify for Blamm, by 'standard' I meant the English language version you get in most countries - the Arabic version differs in a number of ways besides just the language settings.
