HELP! My Word 2000 looks like it's going to open and then just opens to a white page of nothing? I end up having to exit the page and it asks me to "End Program" because it is "not responding." I tried searching for the "Normal.Dot" file to rename it but can't find one so I really have no clue what to do?? I'd appreciate any help you have to offer!

You have to enable hidden files in order to locate the file and delete it.

In Explorer:

Tools
Folder Options
View
Show hidden files and folders
Uncheck Hide extensions for known file types
and
Uncheck Hide protected operating system files

Then delete any normal.dot file found.

Uninstall Word2000, Do regedit, remove all winword entries, reinstall word2000 and it should work.
