On my W2k computer I have Office 2000.
Everything is fine except when I want to open Excel; popup a window and starts installing Office SR-1 ?!?
After few moments, comes this message:
Error 1926. Could not set file security for file 'C:\Config.Msi\' Error:5.
Verify that you have sufficient privileges to modify the security permissions for this file.

Same message when I tried to repair or remove Office.
I can't make it to work and I can't also get rid of it!

Could you guys, help me?
Thanks!

What are you logged in as when trying to complete this task?? Log in as administrator, and try to run it again. Also, have the Office CD handy, it may be looking for files to read from the CD.
Also, Be sure to visit the Office update site to install the rest of the service packs.

good luck
