Office 2000 on Windows 2000 server

I installed the MS Office 2000 premium version on Windows 2000 server. The installation was completed and successful. However, I can't run any one of the MS Office 2000 programs. The program starts and then immediately quits with no warning and error message. I tried to set the permission in the registry with Regedt32.exe as recommended. I also ran Regclean many times to clean or fix the registry key. It still doesn't work. Does any one know what the problem is and how to fix it? Please, help me out!!!

Check the Task manager after you try to start one of the Office programs. If you see the exe file running under processes then you probably have a conflict with a 16bit app... this is just a hunch...

If you install a pirated version of office 2000, that was a known 'bug' in one of the rips that was going around online.
Probably not the same problem, but, just something I did remember hearing. -.-9

I had the same problem with a workstation. If it is the same problem the apps will work when you are logged on as Administrator. It was a registry permissions issue but the resolution was this (be logged on as Administrator): 1. Uninstall Office 2. Delete the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Office\9.0 key (not sure of the order of those 2.. don't think it matters) 3. Re-install Office 2000
It should work with a user account now. If this doesn't work, have a look at MS Knowledge Base Article Q257593.
