Comment: I have got problems installing office 2000 on windows 2000 whenever i try to install it i get the following message "Some default settings of microsoft office do not work on windows terminal server. consult your office resource kit ork tools or microsoft web site." Now i have downloaded the ork tools for microsoft office from the web site but there is no help whatsoever in that tool kit. it installs like a normal office application but when again i go to install office 2000 the same message repeats. so basically what i was asking was that what is the procedure to install ms office 2000 on windows 2000 server cause its different to install. if you could provide help with that.

Reply: (edit)you are working with a windows 2000 server version. The solution is to delete de terminal service server. The only problem is that you can`t work with a exchange server because that needs this service. also you can try to stop the terminal server service, install office 2000 and start the terminal service afer you have install office 2000. Warning: after the first time you install office 2000 the computer wil be reboot. don`t think thats all of the instllation. After the reboot office will install the last stuff.. greetz, shadow_tj

Reply: (edit)You must use a transform in order to install on Terminal Server. Also have to add program by using Add/Remove programs in control panel. Browse for the setup.exe in the root folder of disc one and click OK. On the command line add the following two commands after setup.exe, seperated by spaces: TRANSFORMS="path\TermSrvr.mst" /I*"%WINDIR%\Office 2000 Setup(0001).txt" In the Add/Remove Programs in control panel, make sure All users begin with common application settins option is selected so that it will run in install mode instead of execute mode
