Hello,

We're running WIN2kPro with NT Servers. We are deploying a new workstation image. We want the file location for all MS Office 2000 apps to default to our user's Home (network) drive.

Currently our Helpdesk techs have to visit each user's machine and change the MS Office default file locations individually (ie Toos/options/etc..).

Is there a way we can set this parameter in the image? Or perhaps automate it in some way (Registry hack, Batch file, login script)?

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Pat

In the Registry, under HKEY_Users, there is a User Shell Folders value. In the Personal folder option, set it to your user's home directory, such as Z:\. You can also set IE Favorites and Cookies to default locations as well. That way, no matter which machine the users login to, as long as they are mapped to their home folder (assuming it's on a file server), they will have access to all of those same files.
