Ok, this is just a general question, is this off lease computer from Dell: Pentium 3, 933Mhz, 128 RAM, 20 GB HDD, DVD-ROM with no OS worth buying for 230 bucks? It has no Windows, and i want to know if i can put my Windows 2000 Professional/98/ME on it and buy and replace the DVD-ROM with a DVD Burner?

No, it is not worth $230.

Get an idea of what used computers are worth.
That money will buy a P4 1.4.

Does it also come with a Dell monitor? If it is a Dimension 4100, it uses sdram133 ram, and it can be upgraded to a maximum of 512. Kingston or Crucial memory works very good in this Dell. You should install at least another stick of 128 to bring it up to a minimum of 256. NCIX(Vancouver company, and excellent on line service) has 512 of Crucial ram for about a $100, and dvd burners for $80. This is just to give you an idea of what a memory upgrade will cost you, which I think would be an essential upgrade. It will easily handle a dvd burner. The 20g hard drive is small, but it can be easily upgraded to whatever you want. I have Windows 2000 installed on a Dell Dememsion 4100 P3 with 512ram, and it does everthing I want. It is not a gaming system, and cannot be made one though. HTH
