Hey, my comp keeps crashing... I have read most of the forums about this and have tried all of the drivers for the motherboard and the graphics. I got the tnt2 32mb about a month ago and it was working fine... nfs5 worked great for a while but would sometimes lock up. I thought this had to do with lens flare and i shut that off and then it worked fine. Later i started playing it again and now it would just freeze out of the blue. I had this problem with the wildtangent games such as asteroids and speedway...but i thought that it was just a glitch in the wt software.
specs:
I gotta duron 800mhz on a soyo k7vta-b motherboard
i had win me now i got win 2000...same problem
riva tnt2 agp 32mb model 64
2 harddrives...1 4.2 other 1.2
1.2 is primary(windows runs off of this) i got 200mb free on c: 250 on d: the sap file is usually about 40mb

If n e 1 can help me out here...id really appreciate it.

ALSO...this would only occur after playin nfs5 for about 15 mins...then it would freeze and the comp would not start up again for about 2 mins...when if finallly booted up, the comp would freeze up periodically until i changed the graphics cards drivers around a little

Lastly: do i need a fan on the graphics card chip...cause on the box there is a picture of one but the actual card has a grill thing on top of the chip...maybe its just overheating.

THANX in advance for n e help that u might have.

It sounds like you need more hard drive space. What is the setting for your swap file? It should be 1.5 times your amount of RAM in your PC. If not, then you will have problems. Overheating of the video card will definitely cause problems (like UUU said). Be sure it has a heatsink and fan on it to keep things cool. Also, get Nvidia's newest detonator drivers for windows 2000, this may clear up some problems too. However, I have never been able to get a nfs game to run on 2000. Damn you EA. Hope this helps.

Ah, here's a good one for ya guys, Whenever I use netmeetings more advanced features, like webcam/audio streams, I get bsod'd and the direcX drivers get corrupted. Basically I've narrowed it down to netmeeting using an openGL based system (loads drivers actively) fighting against w2k's built in security (reloads changed files automatically). So it becomes a tangle of mixed files that shut's down directX's ability to recognise my tnt2. and thus killing ALL my games until I reinstall the os... :(, you might be hitting a similar issue, beware openGL!!! lol

I'm having lock up problems with Win2000 and MS Flight Simulator 2000. I don't seem to have any problems with any of my applcations including FS2000. I have gotten the latest NVidia driver, but with no help. Anyone else having the same problem with FS2002?

I have NVIDIA RIVA TNT2 M64, and my computer freeze playing The Longest Journey (as Genius, after 10 - 15 min i`d started). I found the solution: update the driver to NVIDIA Detonator Driver, now my game is working fine.
