I am trying to make a mandatory profile. I copy the profile from the client computer to the network server. When I show hidden files on the shared network folder I see ONE file called NTUSER (capitalized) wich is a DAT file. But when I show hidden files from the client computer to see the hidden profiles files there are TWO NTUSER files, one is NTUSER a DAT file (icon is a piece of paper with windows icon) and the second is ntuser.dat (lowercase, a text file that has the notepad icon). Are both of these files supposed to be copied to the network server? When I do 'copy to' the one that gets copied is the NTUSER DAT file? is this the one I right click on and rename from NTUSER to NTUSER.dat? this is the only NTUSER file shown!! in the copied to folder.

Did you research "mandatory profiles" on microsoft's web site? If not, start there. It's been a long time since I played with mandatory profiles but it seems to me you have to rename the NTUSER.DAT to NTUSER.MAN

I know all about mandatory profiles, but when I go to the location were I copied the profile to on the network server I only see a file called NTUSER wich is categorized as a DAT file, but I don't see a file specifically named ntuser.dat.
