I got a kmode_exception_not_handled error for windows 2000 sp3. So I installed windows XP just to get onto the internet to download SP3 for windows 2000, and copied ntoskrnl.exe into system32 folder for windows 2000. Go back into windows 2000, luckly it starts with no BSOD but the mouse and keyboard does not work. Its a wireless keyboard and mouse, but also another usb mouse (one trackball and one normal for everyone else). The keyboard works to enter bios and the F8 o/s menu. but doesn't work for windows 2000. I'm back on windows XP (without drivers installed, using default drivers) and its working. If I copy in any other version of ntoskrnl.exe (from cd, winxp version) it gives an error that ntoskrnl.exe isnt a windows image, if I copy ing the original corrupted version, I get the kmode error again.
