What you should do, is to boot up into DOS mode. And access the partition you intend to use for bootup, and check that all the files necesarry to boot are present and also not corrupted. Here's a list of some boot critical files: boot.ini, bootsect.dos, ntldr, ntdetect.com

Good luck..

Load the ntldr file onto a floppy. Put it in the drive and boot. If any other files are missing just add them to the floppy. It will read the file from the floppy, and continue loading O/S from HD.

Once loaded, you can copy these files to the boot partition. Also verify the Boot.ini file is also in the root of the boot partition.

If this does not work, which sometimes it does not, you need to boot your system using a CD or boot disks. Choose "R"epair and then "C"onsole. Supply admin password. This will give you DOS access to root directory, where you can replace these files. Note, you will need to change file permissions to see/view/copy these files.

If you need additional information on this and can not find help, feel free to email me and I will be happy to assist.

Good luck.

Regards,

Brian
