I have this problem as well ... "NTLDR IS MISSING" ... so all I have to do is get a disk with rdisk.exe on it and/or with NTLDR files on it? I'm running Windows 2000; can I get the required files from an NT machine?

If there is another NT machine around copy the NTLDR file onto your pc by booting up into DOS mode , replacing the other file. You might have to change permissions on the file in DOS .

You actually need three files, 1) ntldr 2) ntdetect.com 3) boot.ini

Its a pesky problem when you first see it. Once you get everything back to normal, do this - make a floppy copy of those three files, off your own machine. Of course, you'll have to go into folder options and show all files, because I think they are hidden files by nature.

I've made a copy of my three files, and trust me, it saved me alot of heartache and grief. With Windows 2000, you just never know when a blue screen of death is going to pop up. You just never know.

1. Try to fix boot.ini. may be the arc address doesn't point to the right partition or it may corrupted.

2. Boot from your Win2K CDROM, choose repair and use console repair, try to use command : fixmbr or/and fixboot
