Is it possible, on a win2k pro station (srv pack 2), to ghost the C:\ partition ? (wich is NTFS)

I have to convert the NTFS partition to FAT32 but just in case that something could go wrong i want to Ghost it first.

And in a second time wich software should i use to convert the NTFS to FAT32 without loosing data. (Partition Magic 7 Pro ? )

I have to convert the NTFS because of a backup agent. =( the damn thing only works on FAT32.

i don't know if you can ghost it, but i do know that once you create an ntfs drive you can't go back to fat. win2k won't allow it. but if you have done it before, then my apologies.

Well i installed Partion Magic 7 Pro and in the OPTIONS it seems possible to convert back to FAT32. (But at what cost ?, this is what scare me the most)

I installed Ghost Personal Edition to GHOST the DRIVE but the BOOTDISK made with the Wizzard doesnt have the appropriate file system. (It creat a DOSBOOT....not really appropriated for NT5 . . .)

SealX...the personal edition of Ghost works only on W9x...not on NT...

The enterprise version of Ghost will back up NT and NTFS drives no problem...

I think PM7 will convert NTFS back to FAT32, although I have never tried to do it...

If you can't get the right copy of Ghost, then back up all your data and try the PM7...

Hope this helps

I have another suggestion to you, i don't know if you have enough empty space on your HDD, in case you do create a new partition in fat 32, and then copy the whole drive into the new drive using Prtition Magic7, then get rid of the old drive.
I've never tries it, but i think it will work better than risking converting the drive and maybe loosing everything.
